HVS3 (High Volume Small Surface Sampler)

The HVS3 conforms to the ASTM D5438-005 "Standrd Practice for Collection of Floor Dust for Chemical Analysis".  It has been designed to collect large samples of dust for analysis.  A wide variety of accessories enable the HVS3 to sample many additional surfaces other that floors.

This sampling system is used to collect dust for the measurement of lead, arsenic, pesticides, biologicals and any other contaminates that may be adhering to surface dust.  The system as shown weighs approximately 30 lbs. 

The HVS3 will collect a large, representative sample of house dust from indoor surfaces such as carpets, area rugs, bare floors and upholstery (with proper accessories).   It has been used on outside surfaces to collect dust from airport runways and sidewalks.   The sampler maintains a uniform sampling conditions.  It uses a 3" Teflon coated cyclone to capture 5µm+ particulate.  The cyclone captures more than 99% of the particulate lifted from the surface when sampling.  This material is held in removable sample bottles.  They are either LDPE, FEP or Glass (with adapter).   See the accompanying accessory pages.
